Caregiver

Supporting and assisting an older family member is an act of love and compassion that requires your time, energy, and other resources.

The Caregiver Advisor can help you in your role as a family caregiver by:

• Providing information about services and benefits and explaining the pros and cons of your options

• Helping you access services or benefits, and advocating to get those services properly in place

• Offering education or training, and providing support for you through this time in your life

• Helping you determine how to take care of yourself by marshalling your energy and finding balance in your life

Eligibility

Those who are:

• caring for a family member or friend who is age 60 or older

• caring for an adult child with disabilities

Grandparents Raising Grandchildren

If you’re one of the 100,000 grandparents in Illinois raising grandchildren, you know the changes to your own life and finances. Our Caregiver Advisor can help.

• She provides information and assistance so you can access services or benefits, and advocates to get those services properly in place

• She offers education and training on issues important to you or your grandchildren, and supports you through this time in your life

• Aunts, uncles, or other adults raising the children of a relative qualify for these support services as well

You are offering these children a great gift. It is our pleasure to assist you in accessing local supports to help you succeed.
